Arnold EyeCare Center doctors prescribe every contact lens imaginable. From orthokeratology to rigid gas permeable, soft disposables to soft multifocals, lenses for astigmatism to tinted contact lenses-- we offer them all.
Orthokeratology is a procedure that utilizes a specially designed rigid gas permeable type contact lens to alter the shape of the eye's cornea. The lenses are generally worn during sleep and removed when awake. This allows you the freedom to participate in sports, swimming or day-to-day routines without the restrictions incurred with glasses or regular contact lenses.Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP)Contact Lenses are small, firm lenses that work by only slightly changing the corneal surface to aid in vision correction. They are worn during waking hours and are especially effective in correcting astigmatism. Studies have indicated that RGPs can help slow down the development of near-sightedness in children (or anyone with a continuously changing prescription).
Soft contact lenses are some of the most common lenses worn today. Many are disposable, worn from 1 day to one month, and can correct all types of vision problems. Soft toric lenses have the ability to clear astigmatism while soft multifocals clear the problematic near blur that some experience when reading or using a computer.Tinted contact lenses are available in a variety of colors. They are used most often by patients who wish to brighten their already blue or green eyes and also by those with brown eyes that seek a more dramatic change. Tinted lenses can even be worn to mask a traumatic eye injury or deformity.
Arnold EyeCare Center doctors prescribe contact lenses from many different manufacturers including CibaVision, Bausch & Lomb, CooperVision and Johnson & Johnson. Drs.
